The listing, Olivine (Peridot) Mineral Sample! has ended.
Mineral collectors take note: Large portion of an Olivine (Peridot) volcanic bomb from Kilbourne Hole, New Mexico. This xenolith (chunk of the mantle) exploded from the ground about 200,000 years ago and is entirely comprised of Olivine as little crystals (to 3mm) compacted together. The color of the crystals are clear apple green to dark olive green(fayalite to forsterite end members), with some black pyroxene crystals. A thin basalt crust coats the specimen on one side. A beautiful example of what the earth is made of!

Questions & Comments
Also Peridot is the gem form of Olivine. This sample contains Peridot, however it is most likely to small to facet and create a workable gem stone out of.
