The listing, Tom Peterson ltd edition Watch! Yes! the "Wake Up! Wake Up" Man! has ended.

A must have for any Nirvana, Gus Van Zant fan or Northwest Native!
I have had this Limited Edition Watch for over 3 years. Put in a battery & got it a band, have enjoyed wearing it. The battery lasted over 2 years. If I have the time, I will put one in it. Definitely solid & has held up well for a promotional watch!!

"Tom Peterson, an American retailer, pitchman and television personality from Portland, Oregon. His memorable television commercials and unusual promotions made him a widely recognized personality in the Portland area by the 1980s, leading to several cameo appearances in the films of Gus Van Sant."

Peterson has cited as his most successful promotion the Tom Peterson watch, also featuring his face. Peterson said in 1988: "It particularly went well with college youth. They're a big thing on campus. I guess it's kind of a cult thing."

Northwest native Kurt Cobain wore a Tom Peterson wristwatch, as did David Foraker, the attorney representing the creditors in Peterson's bankruptcy case.
Probably highly collectible, by now!!

Thanks For Looking & Happy Bidding:)

I am delighted that this relic of the 80's made it all the way across country in one piece, more or less. Some day he will write a book... if he hasn't already. Perhaps a bunch of the old pitchmen should get together for a reunion tour. The could sing a melody of their favorite pitches. I would personally recruit Ralph Williams, Cal Worthington, Tom Peterson, Earl Scheib, Ed Zimmer,

Hi There! Yes, thanks to you! As soon as I received it, I went got a battery & band. Ran like a charm!! It was my constant companion for almost 2 Years & that was along with my phone! As I rarely wear watches since cell phones. But I loved it! Hard to part with. Needs a battery, so I put it in a drawer. Hesitated & kept changing my mind, not about the battery! But the thought of passing it on via Listia?? Then I though OK I may never own another, but this awesome watch & I shared a "History" & still will. It is a material object, but one I loved & enjoyed. So, uh oh now I am having 2nd thoughts LOL someone bid fast! How cool would it be 5 yrs from now to see it loved by 2 more owners?? Thanks for commenting, For those of you who may have read all this & not figured out the connection, This is the sweet woman who Originally Listed this watch! & If you only knew what I did to get the credits for it, back then! I kept getting outbid! Too funny!

Well, yes. I saw "To Die For," with Ms Tom Cruise Kidman and the crew. I think that movies is just as hysterical as Fargo..... dark, dark humor. RIght up my alley. Thank you for remembering me, EJ, and for reminding me of why your auction piqued my interest so much. I think Gus probably still has his big house here, in Portland, up on the hill. He is such a sweet and cracked creative man.
