GIN BONUS - GIN DOUBLES TO 4 CUTTINGS!
There is so much to say about this plant. My advice is if you don't know about it, google & learn about all it's wonders. I will add some links for some info in comment section.
First lets talk about what you are gettign & how it grows. You will be getting 2 cuttings at least 8" long (most are at least 10"). These look a little like a thin plumeria cutting. It looks like just a green stick, and can be kept as such for up to a month. When I plant mine, I basicly just stick it in the ground & let it do it's thing here in FL. My original plant I bought as a cutting & it is now over 8ft tall. You can let it grow as a tree like I do, or keep it as a shrub or container plant. In the winter it does loose all its leaves here but as soon as it warms up they come back. It is not fond of the cold, or being too wet. Mine are always in full sun. Once established it is very drought tolerant.
The variety I have is a 5 lobed leaf, that get larger than my hand. It has no stinging hairs & throws off lots of clusters of small white flowers that butterflies love.
Now - The leaves are edible & highly nutritious. It is recommended you cook them prior to eating & do NOT cook in anything aluminum. Chaya has up to 10 (TEN) times the calcium as spinach. 4x the protein as spinach! It can be made into tea, used in soups, smoothies, anywhere you would use cooked greens. You can find some great recipes online if you search for them. Once established you can harvest up to 50% of its leaves at one time. It is said to help with ailments such as:
Improve blood circulation,
help digestion,
improve vision,
disinflame veins and hemorrhoids,
help lower cholesterol,
help reduce weight,
prevent coughs,
augment calcium in the bones,
decongest and disinfect the lungs,
prevent anemia by replacing iron in the blood,
improve memory and brain function and
combat arthritis and diabetes.

Cream of Chaya soup -

Chaya, (Cnidoscolus chayamansa) is a traditional ingredient in Maya Cuisine. Its tender green leaves are similar to spinach but contains great amount of minerals, antioxidants and nutritional value. Chaya recipes are truly recommended for those that have diabetes, obesity and kidney stone ailments and can be found in Texas and Florida where its popularity has gained it a place in the food produce choices of markets. We hope you enjoy this rich velvety recipe, serves four people, best made with organic fresh chaya leaves:

Ingredients:

20 tender Chaya leaves washed.

2 cups of organic whole milk

4 fresh leaves of basil

1 crushed garlic clove

1 small onion diced

1 cup of vegetable bouillon

pepper and salt to your taste.

Final Touch: 2 spoons of unsweetened cream

NOTE: You may use fresh organic spinach leaves and follow this delicious recipe.

How to Prepare: Place chaya leaves, chopped onions and crushed garlic in a pot with the vegetable bouillon and cook for ten minutes or until leaves are blanched (use mid-heat); add milk and let it cool. In a blender mix to a smooth velvety texture the remaining ingredients, return mix to pot and cook another five to ten minutes or until mixture gets really hot but does not boil. Serve hot. Add the final touch by placing the unsweetened cream in a small bag; cutting the bag's bottom tip, you can create a lovely design atop your served soup bowls. For a zesty taste, sprinkle a bit of crush dried red chili as well.

This sounds like the perfect plant for me. I have most of the health problems you have listed. I'd have to buy a a new pan to cook it in though. All mine are aluminum. I will have to grow it inside as i live in Washington State and it may survive our cold winters and all the rain. I really hope i am lucky enough to be the winner.

Yes if you live anywhere with anything more than mild winters I would keep it potted so it can be moved out of the cold. The more you research this the more you find out, im still learning new stuff about it & have come across some good recipes like a "cream of chaya" soup & casseroles.

Could you tell me what GIN is? I haven't been doing this very long and all i have learned has come from people i have asked who have been doing this for awhile. I try to find out from listia but there isn't any information or it is just for the seller. Thanks.

"GIN" is Get it Now, which is a price the seller decides on that will allow a buyer to buy the item now rather than wait for it to end. Up near the bids it should show a "Get it Now" button with a price of 9,999.

Well, i tried. Have no more credits at the time. Is there any way i could get some cuttings from you. They would be so good for me and my daughter. I guess whoever won has more problems than i do.
