Description

The listing, Baby grand piano has ended.

Working brambach baby grand piano. i really don't know a lot about it, but it was our church's piano and is 40-50 years old. it's in about as good as condition as one could expect an instrument of this age to be. it comes with bench. i will post a video of it being played with a copy of the listing so you could be assured that this listing is not a hoax, as i'd also refer you to my feedback.

winner assumes all responsibility to move the piano and will be resposnsible for all costs involved in the moving of the piano. winner will be given contact information, and will have 7 days to contact the church to make an appointment for when it is to be claimed and moved. you do not have to come and move it before 7 days after auction ends, but you must make contact for appointment for it to be claimed or it will be relisted and credits not refunded per listia rules. office hours are weekdays from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm, but pickup could be arranged for mostly any day and any time, sunday morning being the obvious exception.

the piano is located in hammond, indiana, which borders chicago, illinois.

there is a video showing the piano better and being played which could be viewed at this address.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tw2qv0dxsxi&feature=youtu.be

please don't allow my bad playing to be the judge of the instrument; it really sounds better than my playing would have you believe.

if you have any questions please don't hesitate to ask. i will do my best to answer any and all questions yet keep in mind neither i nor anybody associated with me or the church is an expert on pianos.

It's up there now. Sorry about that, but I had no idea it takes about 24 hours to upload something to youtube. Enjoy. :-)

Could you put a vid up on the piano keys? I would like to see the action on them...

Absolutely, will be on hopefully by tomorrow morning. Want me to start from the lowest key and hit all 88 for you? Did you get a chance to see the first video, if so what did you think?

The piano looks good if not a little out of tune

And for the keys just play a chord staccato or a single note to see how fast the keys go back into place. I want to use this to play List's Hungarian rhapsody mvmt 2.

And could u see if the action is smooth, or does it feel a little sticky? And do the pedals all work correctly? Sorry for the inconvenience.

Not an inconvenience in the least bit, will try to answer these. I made a video and youtube says that it'll be posted in about 300 minutes, butsince the auction ends in 8 days that shouldn't be a problem. I did the chord thing and played each of the 88 keys, and was all up and down the keyboard. Had to play right handed and record left handed, but it seems to have turned out well. You will see for yourself that the action is in fact smooth, and each key springs back with no delay or sticking. I took organ lessons as a kid, not piano, so U really don't know what the pedals do. The right one is sustain and that works, as video one showed. If you tell me what the other two are supposed to do I could stop by later today or tomorrow after work and test them out.

The left piano pedal dampens the noise and makes it softer. The middle one is the trickiest and sustains the note. In other words it makes the echo of the note last longer. Sorry that's the best way I know how to explain it.

Tested them today, and they seemed to do what you describe. The left one made the keys in the inside shift a touch, a slight echo from the middle, and full sustain from the right. Everything works, just in need of a touch of TLC.

And could you show pictures of the interior, soundboard and the keys? and if possible have them on video.

The second video is now live. I took a minute and some change of the piano being played with an inside view of the hammers (or whatever they are called) and will be live ASAP.
