Nope! Alot of times jewelers will have their not-so-perfect metal covered with it so it shines more and keeps it from fading & turning your fingers a lovely shade of EWWW! :) LOL

I am confused about the stone. In the title you say it's a topaz, in the description you say it's a crystal. It looks like a cubic zirconium. Can you be a little clearer please.

a white topaz can look like a white cz, I set my own white topaz and it did look like a cz but I bought the gemstone from a reputable jeweler and know it's not a cz. anyways it's a beautiful ring :)
