Description

The listing, Drosera Capensis (Carnivorous Sundew) 25+ Seeds has ended.

Sundews, especially Drosera Capensis (Cape Sundews) are fun and easy to grow. Who doesn't love a plant that captures bugs? This attractive plant has lovely pink flowers and can be grown indoors or outdoors, depending on where you live.

This auction is for approximately 25-30 seeds. The winner will also receive detailed planting instructions with their seeds. The last picture (#10) shows the seeds and seed pods compared to a dime; as you can see, the seeds are tiny. These plants can be grown in a sunny windowsill or if you live in a tropical/tropical-ish climate where the temperature only briefly drops below 35°F or so, you have the option of growing your plants outdoors.

A few things you might want to know about these plants:
* Tap water, depending on your area, mineral count etc., may kill these plants. In order to assure their health, water them only with rain water, distilled water, or reverse osmosis water.
* Carnivorous plants should not be fertilized, or planted in regular potting soil. They thrive in sphagnum moss or peat moss found in common garden centers.
* The plants should be kept moist. It's easy - keep them in a small dish of water, and they will thrive.

Here's what one of the buyers of these seeds wrote to me, less than 20 days after receiving them:

Dear pooparella,

Just wanted to let you know that I am having fantastic results germinating the D. Capensis seeds. I spread them over a potting mixture in a 12" pot and covered it with a glass plate for humidity and germination. Seems to me that pretty much every single seed has germinated so far. I plan to start getting the healthiest ones their individual pots within the next week. I just wanted to say thanks again for the great product! I wish I could go back and update your feedback to something even more positive!
:)
