The listing, 1945 Canadian nickel has ended.
An interesting coin from Canada, dating back 68 years, featuring the current queen's father (George VI). This was the last year of this design, before the V was replaced with the present design (the beaver). This design was only used fron 1943 to 1945.
The message "We Win When We Work Willingly" is engraved in Morse code on the rim of the coin.
This was the end of World War II and the demand for copper and zinc was high, 5 cents coins of 1944 and 1945 were produced in steel coated with nickel and chrome plated. Only a small amount of 5 cents coins of 1944 and 1945 were not chrome plated.
I believe this is one of the chrome ones, since I can pick it up with a magnet.
Happy bidding.
