Beautiful Tree, Showy yellow blossoms in early summer followed by papery hanging capsules (full of seeds) through October. They originally come from Asia, which the seed capsules remind me of.
Adapts to many soil types and tolerates air pollution, drought, and alkalinity. Full sun. Grows to 30' to 40', 35' spread. They are tolerant of poor soils and grow well almost anywhere in (zones 5-9) They are listed as "fast growing trees".
The seeds are very tough skinned. I recommend some research on tips to help them sprout. I've had luck with taking some clean sand paper to them lightly, to help weaken the shell slightly, then keep them in warm, constantly damp paper towel until they sprout.
Mine took about 2 years to reach 2 feet, Then about 2-3 ft. of growth per year here in IN.
