Description
The listing, GENTLE SARAH AND LITTLE ANNIE Amish Doll Kit has ended.
This auction is for a panel containing one 18"Amish doll and her clothes, plus Sarah's doll, Annie. It was difficult to get a picture of the full panel to show the details. Amish dolls do not have faces, and their clothes are plain. But they are guaranteed to be cute as a button when you make them! Would make a wonderful Christmas gift for some lucky little girl!
Questions & Comments
Really cute, interesting about the faces!! Thanks for sharing!!
Yeah, it is. The Amish don't believe in having their picture taken, and I guess they think putting a face on a doll would make it an idol or something. Really don't know their thinking, but do know their dolls don't have faces.
Nice auction, amish dolls do not have faces due to there religious believes that the devil could possess the dolls and watch them from inside there homes.
Hello friend :) I was just dropping by to say hi & noticed a bunch of your nice auctions up. I haven't been on listia to much because Last week we finished our 27 hours of classes... The last step yaaaay!!! I hope your mother & you are doing well I think about you guys a lot
Hi, Pinky! That's SO wonderful that our classes are finished...have you looked at any profiles yet? So exciting that you're getting closer to your dream! Mom is doing well, but sleeping too much. Think she's bored because my sister is gone so much...she's still working. Going to go get her Friday.
Does this enclude her bonnet or apren...amish women must have there hair in a bonnet at all times while in public...so i was just curious...**fingers crossed** hope i win, i have been looking for one of these since my daughter was born (7 1/2 years ago) just incase where did you get this...its a must have..( if youd rather not say till after your auction ends i understand) ;)
I'm pretty sure the bonnet is included. I'll go look and let you know for sure. This was in my mother's sewing stuff when we moved her down south. I have no idea where she got it, but you could probably do a search for Amish doll kits on the internet. My mother had one she made (I think it was from a panel to cut out the pieces like this one). That doll had a bonnet, dress, and apron, so I'm assuming Gentle Sarah's kit does, too.
