I call it the "Olympian". It's an Olympus Camedia C-720 model camera that's easy-to-use, of high-quality, and produces amazingly sharp pictures with bright colors.

I've only posted 5 pics taken with the Olympian, each one using the Autofocus mode, and "5" with Manual mode and Macro, making it so easy and SIMPLE. You'll find it convenient to take pictures with the viewfinder instead of the LCD, then you can crop or photoshop to your heart's delight as you come up with some great shots.

The original street price was in the $500+ range.

This is also a great backup for your DSLR, that you can depend on.

Don't worry about publishing your pictures on the Internet, where max resolution is not usually an issue, this has more than enough capability. You can copy the pics I've posted, taken with the Olympian, and enlarge each one, and you'll be pleased to notice how much you can magnify the photo without it appearing pixelated.

The stock lens isn't threaded for filters, so I added a lens adapter extension tube which will enable you to add all kinds of goodies (lens hoods, lens filters [UV, IR, polarizing, special effects, etc.] ). It protects the optical lens from accidental impact since the lens projects out automatically when you turn on the camera. It alone costs around $20 to replace, and it also comes with the stock lens cap for protection.

The optical zoom is a nice feature that brings you closer to your subject almost instantly. The digital viewfinder lets you compose the photo the way you want it.

It uses standard 4 AA batteries. It takes video clips in QuickTime format.
