I tried to bid and it outbids me automatically but it says the high bidder last bid at 1251 am today can someone please help I am new to this and I am also a foster parent who is trying to make sure I have some stuff incase a baby or child comes to us in the middle of the night instead of spending the money for brand new stuff.

When you place a bid and it automatically says you were outbid, it means the last bidder put in a max bid that is still higher than the one you placed. Just under the high bid you will see XXXX or more. Meaning that you need to bid at least that amount to be high bidder. Sometimes the site doesn't always put in the highest bid if the increments are to far apart. Like the high bid now says 2153. Increments can be in 5 - 100s. Depending on how high the bid already is at. Someone places say 10,000 for their max bid and you bid 5000, it will show the high bid of 5050. 50 increments for that amount. Hope I cleared it up a bit for you.
