Here's a set of two digital GMRS and FRS 2-way radios which communicate with each other up to five miles away. Great for the theme park, home/roof repairs, or just keeping in touch with your nearby friends without using up your text messages or cell phone minutes.

Has a 5-mile range (but more like three miles in the city). Can operate on both the GMRS frequency and also FRS frequency. 15-channels, auto-squelch, auto-scan, vox activation.

Takes 4xAAA batteries, can also use a wall power adapter (not included). Has a built-in speaker and microphone, or you can also plug in a headset. Has push-to-talk feature, lighted display, etc.

These radios work 100%, the only issue is that the rubber antenna covers come off easily (see photo). The winner might want to glue them on with gorilla glue, epoxy, or that expanding foam stuff. I will leave that up to the winner to decide.
