The listing, Grow me the Money!!! Money Plant Seeds has ended.
Up for auction are ~50 money seeds and I will include some of the dried plant that you can have the fun of shelling yourself.
If you are not familiar with this plant, it is a biannual. The first year a plant comes up, the second year it blooms a purple bloom and then the money forms. You allow it to bloom, then make its money, and then let it dry. Afterwards you peel off both sides of the seed pod to reveal a shimmery dried forever lasting plant inside. The pictures show the dried end product, the plant as it appears growing and the final shimmery peeled money plant. I am using lots in the wedding decorations for a wedding coming up. So pretty and ......
Who says money can't grow on trees???!! :) or plants at least.
Questions & Comments
If I win-will you send these instructions wit the seeds please??
do you mean planting instructions or peeling the seed pod directions? I will be glad to help with any information you need. I got these from my husband's Poppa many years ago, and after they dry, I take some of the plants and literally just shake them around in my garden, scruff up the dirt slightly and they grow easily. Anyway in answer to your question, I will be glad to answer any questions and provide any information you need.
I found this article that talks about how and what they are. I have had them for 20 years, and they reseed and continue to spread and grow. Read this though and don't hesitate to ask if you have any questions http://www.growinginstructions.com/fb119.html
Hello.. yes I live in Zone 7 and they multiply and grow fantastic. It does take two years for the money to come but a good read to find info about them is here. http://www.growinginstructions.com/fb119.html
