Actually, by "using" it I just put it under the laptop and..yea...i didn't know it had a cord,., not too good at knowing about this stuff...I actually didn't know it had a cord - the person who I got it from didn't say anything about it., so i used it as is

with that you just use your charger cord from your lap top have one just like it but ya just plug your laptop cord in it
