I believe this is a cherry wood pipe. I always loved the smell of the pipe tobacco my daddy put in it.

is the pipe marked anywhere?

it is not marked, I was not aware that they all had markings on them. It is just an old smoking pipe my daddy used to smoke out of. I got it for him for Christmas when I was 18 years old, I am now 60, so if you want to consider it old, I guess it is pretty old. All I know is that he always commented that it was a smooth smoking pipe. fit his hand good and did not get too hot when smoking it.
