Description

The listing, Antique Man-Made Diamonds has ended.

These earrings were bought for me in 1975, making them antique. Back in the 1970's when these were made, man-made diamonds were the thing. I do not know if the man-made diamonds are still being made or not. The title is self-explanatory. These earrings are white gold. Box not included.

As soon as I can go in my bedroom without waking my husband, I will let you know. They are in my jewelry box in the bedroom. I will get back to you with the answer.

I will get back with you on that. It is in my jewelry box in the bedroom and I don't want to wake him. If I get the chance to sneak in there and bring them out, I will look for markings for you. You will get your answer.

I must make a correction to my auction. I stated they were 14 kt white gold. I could not find any markings on the earring, My mother did say they were 14kt white gold.........but, I believe they are sterling silver because I found no marks. I apologize for the mistake, it wasn't intentional. But I know they are of good quality because it has been 39 years and they would be corroded by now if they were not.

Ok...@axlynnx.....there was not any markings on the earrings; but, this was in 1975 and my parents gave them to me for my 19th birthday. So, looking at the brand new condition of the earrings, I would say they are most likely sterling silver. If they weren't, they would have gotten corroded by now. Let me do the math, thirty eight years and they still look like new. The style of earring is called "Flange" I believe. If you have any more questions, please feel free to ask, I don't mind. I thought I already did this. There are no markings on the earrings. My parents gave them to me for my 19th birthday. They wouldn't give me junk. Also, it has been 39 years, if they weren't of good quality, they would have corroded by now. Yet, they look brand new. Maybe this message will take, I already answered this and it disappeared

man made diamonds are still considered real diamonds right?
Aug 29th, 2013 at 5:11:34 PM PDT by
Original
As I understand, yes. I looked at them under the jewelers eye today and it really did look like a natural instead of synthetic diamond. It actually had flaws just like earth made diamonds found in the diamond mines. Those little bubbles you can see in an earth made diamond have those naturally. I hope I have been some kind of help. Feel free to ask me anything else. Thank you for your interest in my 19th birthday earrings! (only 39 years ago) Forget doing the math, I am 57. LOL

thinking of using the GIN, would you happen to have any silver necklaces? just the chain?
Aug 30th, 2013 at 12:15:06 PM PDT by

Yes, I do, my personal silver chains. Would you like me to do up an auction with one of them with an agreed upon GIN? Then you could GIN it when I list it.
