Up for grabs, is a souvenir sheet from the African nation of CHAD. The title of this finely detailed sheet, is entitled, "KINGS OF FRANCE OF THE ROYAL COURT." This was issued around the mid- to late 1970's. This beautiful Sheet of stamps commemorates the last reigning family of the House of Bourbon. King Louis XVI and Queen Marie-Antoinette were both beheaded during the French REVOLUTION of the late 1790's by their subjects; their young son, the Dauphin, would eventually die in the Bastille prison, an ironic victim of the same French REVOLUTION; which would give rise to the FIRST Republic, and to the first emperor since Charlemagne, Napoleon Bonaparte.
