Description

The listing, Digital image of Indian Chief has ended.

This is a digital image I will send to you by email , it is a cropped version of the original photo taken by my grandfather Ross W. Baker . I cropped it because there is a radiator below that didn't do much to add to it. My Grandfather was a photographer who took this photo in Cyrus Dallin's studio, long ago .You can see more pics on the Cyrus Dallin Museum site on Facebook. I thought it would be nice to share some of these pics , so you can print out copies for yourselfI only ask you do not use it for any commercial purpose without a request in writing, to me.Ross Baker was also known for photos of Orchids he took for the American Orchid Society. You name your price, and if I get enough points to buy printing paper I may put together a small book of his photos.

Are you by chance related to any Bakers from Greensburg, PA & surrounding areas? Trying to find ancestors & relations of John Adam Baker & Eliabeth Silvius Baker. Many of my ancestors of that last name were in Civil War.

It's possible but I can't say for sure. We are from Edward Baker (1630 arrived from England to Boston) . Our geneaology is the the book Nelson Baker did, I think you can get it online.Try Amazon.com. It's quite extensive, but you'll notice a comment at the end I think, where Nelson states that 5 families or more were omitted, I'm guessing maybe was more for person reasons on Nelsons, part, and a bit biased. I think one that was omitted may have been the Mohegan Indian Bakers, because when Nelson wrote it , there was still plenty of racial bias.
