The listing, Hosta Seeds has ended.
I am once again offering Hosta Seeds, you will receive 25+ seeds from this years plants, hosta started from seed do not usually come true to the parent. Blue hostas will produce some blue, some green, and some gold offspring. Hostas are a tough plant I have mine growing in spots that nothing else would grow in, The 1st and 2nd pictures are where nothing would grow, the ground is mostly clay by the deck, and has had Ice Remover Salt, scrape off the deck in that area, altho I have been trying to improve the soil as you can see they are doing great, and around the well the soil is so dry it blows away when you pick up a handfull? These plants are perenials. Growing hosta seed is a simple procedure. Hosta seed sprout nicely indoors, under normal house conditions, with temperatures running 60° to 70°F (20°C). (One rule that needs special attention is that your growing medium must be sterile.) Potting soils are available at garden centers. An alternative to this indoor planting process is to sow the seed outdoors where they will sprout soon as the soil temperature becomes 50° F they realy do, I have been throwing the flower stalks on our hill side and over the fence for years and they always germinate and produce a hosta plant.
