This auction is for a 35% Silver Jefferson nickel from World War Two. The actual coin is dated 1943-P. The photos in the listing are of the actual coin. The coin is in a 2x2. The 1942 through 1945 US Jefferson nickels are considered to be silver coins, although they are made up of silver, copper, and manganese. Most often, it is called a silver alloy coin. These five-cent pieces are also a wartime coin. It was produced in all three mints, including San Francisco, Philadelphia, and Denver, during World War II. The obverse side of this US Jefferson nickel features President Jefferson, along with the wording "In God We Trust," "the date," and "Liberty." The reverse side includes the Monticello, with the word underneath the building. Also on the reverse side is the mint mark, "E Pluribus Unum," "United States of America," and "five cents." If a mint mark is present on this 1942 1945 five-cent piece, it will be above the dome of the Monticello. This US Jefferson nickel is made of 35 percent silver, and it features a diameter of 21.2 mm. This silver coin weighs 5 g (0.17 oz).
