The listing, Pewter Art Noveau Style Necklace has ended.
This necklace was one of a group made by Elias Frame company Famous for beautifully made metal picture frames , most made out of Pewter , Brass or other cast metals. Pewter is basically a softer metal and casts at a lower temperature than most other metals, but polished has a warm sheen, unlike steel or aluminum,or whitemetal. Pewter Jewelry was much more common in the 1800's and early 1900's than it is now. It's hard to find, and actually after searching the internet , this is the only one I found by Elias. Pewter can be cleaned with soap and water and it never tarnishes. It is made from a mix of Tin, a little copper, sometimes Bismuth and other metals, so if you are sensitive to different metals , do a bit of research please , first. It's an unusual necklace and hangs from a velvet ribbon. It still is in the original box. If you have any questions please ask!
