Does mini mean they are smaller than most golden books?

Yes. The books are only a couple of inches big.

I don't know if they would really work for a day care. They are very small. Better for at home to read with you children.

the teacher to child ratio is much smaller with the younger children :) and then the ones old enough to read on their own would be reading independently with it anyway <3
