The listing, Old Civil War 10 Dollar Bill ~ Copy has ended.
You are bidding on a copy of the Obverse of a note that I hold in my personal collection. This is a note considered ‘large’ at the time and is in fair condition.
You can see in the scan of the Note that it is not clean around the edge that is because it is very old. If you were to win the copy, you could print it out and enjoy it in a frame. I will need your email should you win and you will receive a copy without a watermark on it.
I was informed by another listian that "They are called "orphan bank notes", because so many banks went out of business back then before f.d.i.c. came along to insure banks."
All of my auctions abide by listia's rules.
This piece of history is a must for any true Numismatist’s wall around his/her desk.
Historically in 1861 the first $10 bill was issued as a Demand Note with a small portrait of Abraham Lincoln on the left side of the obverse and an allegorical figure representing art on the right.
NOTE: "I hate to have to put it this way however the last two sales resulted in the buyer filing a dispute that I hadn't sent their copy when i had sent it to them twice at the e-mail address they gave me. Thank you for your understanding and happy bidding. :-)
