yeah it's good thing to have...we've got 3 of them other then this one..one i just gave to my daughter to take home, one we have in our bedroom, one i gave my son b4 he left for work. I also have a walkie talkie type of one for when hubby's out and about.

Sure could use this here in "Hurricane City", New Orleans. Stayed for Katrina, had a battery powered tv/radio but got no warning of levee breaking/city flooding cause we had no news people here. Friends in FL saw it on the internet and called us. I definately will be watching this one. Thanks for the great auction.

You're quite welcome! Glad u survived that terrible ordeal. Thing is even if your local newpeople were gone it also has a national alert so it would've been able to tell you what was going on...
I'm in Hurricane Prone Florida so I can empathize. Been through a few hurricanes and a few tornados but nothing that ever did any damage to my own property (across the street got hit hard about 4 yrs ago w/ Hurricane Charlie and the Tornados that it spawned. but nothing on my side of the street).
