Questions & Comments
What people are concerned about is that the phone may be stolen. Not only is that against Listia rules but it's also a guarantee that the phone would be useless if won. If the phone was lost and found or stolen the ESN would be bad. A bad ESN can also result from unpaid bills or a phone that has not been properly severed from the previous carrier (most commonly seen with prepaid accounts that have not been properly cancelled) a bad esn means it cannot be activated. A locked phone (referring to locked in the password protected sense) is a bypassable issue. However, people may be asking if the phone is unlocked as in rooted or even network interchangeable as "unlocked" is used in may contexts. The fact that it does not come with a charger and you have not been able to fully examine it is concerning as well. The phone is obviously used and still worth a bit of money as a trade in or to sell independently so for someone to give it away to someone that doesn't need it and without a charger seems unlikely. If you could post something to ensure that bidders have nothing to be concerned about it would increase your bids tenfold. Is it going for over 30k credits right now? ..Yes but so do stuffed makeup bags on Listia. This phone,if listed properly could be worth a nice sum. If it were mine I would clean it up,purchase a charger or USB cable (which you can always sell or list if the phone doesn't work) and make sure it works. Then I'd wipe it (factory restore),minus any paid apps that might increase the phone's value. Once I confirmed it was restored and functional, I'd check the esn. If the esn checked I'd root and unlock it,buy a nice unisex case, screen protectors, usb car charger and request a new manual for it. Maybe even throw in an iTunes card and THEN list it the right way. Just my two cents. The credits would be well worth the effort and would have gone a long way in establishing a good reputation on Listia.
will u be shipping this out cuz i read the other comments bout tracking and u don't have the extra that ur poor ..when tracking cost .90 cents more but now its included when u send items like this ..
nice auction fanboy. Thanks for posting your listia name and the phone. This goes a long way to verify that the auction is real. It would also be nice to see a pic of the phone powered on. A 4s has a simcard slot on the side of the phone, if this is a 4s. You could show the sim slot on the side to confirm it is a 4s. Thanks again for a nice auction for a new person on listia.
So, does it work or no...? I think you should know whether there are defects. How is the body y? How old is it? Any scratches dings? Can you try to do something with it a so you know it does n n more then power on and off? Otherwise you should lower the bid. . ;-)
A bad esn is when the person doesn't pay their bills. I would hope you could ask your friend since they gifted you the phone if they paid their bills so the phone can be reactivated with another account. But I get it, it's an as is phone. Thanks for always answering questions. Sorry if this cones off as a long read
