This coin is called a "Half Eagle". But I am pretty sure the other coin he had up was not real, because the words calligraphy was very different than all the pictures I could find of it.

This coin was minted by the US. It is a gold coin BUT, this does not mean this is a real coin. Beings the seller doesn't want to respond to any of us.
