No it has a new one in it and it will need to be activated once you receive it just pull the tab off the stem and it should start to work i have checked it after i received it from the place i bought it from it is new never been used .

LAST UPDATE: I will add you some extra beads so if you wish you can change the beads for another great look to change the beads the end will unscrew and come off so the beads can be changed on this nice watch, I will put some beads that will go with the blue stones around the face of the watch.
