The listing, OLD Women's Medical Book has ended.
This came from an estate sale. Published in 1882 and dedicated to a patient in 1893 in Pittsfield, Mass. A couple of the preface pages are loose from the binding but none are missing, pages are very yellow and brittle. A few small edge pieces of some pages have broken off and cover is in rough shape. But it could be worth something to a collector. No bites on CL so thought I would try here. Happy bidding!
Love it! I realize condition is everything, but just the value of the info available during that time is worth so much more to me. My daughter is in nursing school and would LOVE to have this! Thank you so much offering!! I'll be watching, fanning and bidding!
Okay it keeps telling me I haven't replied to your email even tho I have so I will again, lol. You can probably relax with this particular item, don't think you'll have too much competition for it. :-) This was my very first item up for auction and I put the max number of days. I'll know better next time if I want to get rid of something quicker, lol! Two days, over and done. Well now I'm just babbling so I'll let you go. Have a great day! ~ Theresa ~
Wow, that's great! I really had no clue, figured I wouldn't even get a nibble, lol. I was reading thru it a little when I first got it and it's just an amazing book. Then I just left it alone when little pieces of the pages started breaking off. I wish it was in better shape but I'm so happy it will find a good home. :-) Thanks for bidding, and I'll fan you back! Have a great day! ~ Theresa ~
I was wondering how you calculated the $12.00 for shipping. Media mail is generally much cheaper than regular mail. If it weighs leads than a lb it would probably ship for around $5.-$7. Any thoughts?
Shipping UPS and ground residential 90% of the time is at LEAST $12, usually more. I don't know anything about media mail. This is the first thing I've listed so I'm new to this. But this one is going UPS because I want to be able to track it all the way.
Well that's a good idea! But USPS will ship with tracking, for .90cents. Trust me, pack it, and tell them it's a book and you can ship it for less than $7.00. I've shipped media mail from Deep South Texas to Conn for that amount or less. It's really cool!!! The one thing the PO does right is media mail!! Since you know it's sold, pack it and weigh it, and get a quote online for zips. I hope that helps. I live this item!!!
So do I put it in a Priority Mail box? Or we have these nice white boxes we use to ship catalogs. I do all this from work so I have all kinds of shipping stuff and a postage meter. And still never knew anything about media mail, lol. I'll get on the website and see what I can find out.
