Spider plant (Chlorophytum comosum)
Even if you tend to neglect houseplants, you’ll have a hard time killing this resilient plant. With lots of rich foliage and tiny white flowers, the spider plant battles benzene, formaldehyde, carbon monoxide and xylene, a solvent used in the leather, rubber and printing industries.
I have had this plant for twenty years. It has been clipped hundereds of times, all the babies have thrived. This plant came from a clipping from my mother's 60 year old plant, which was from my grandmother's, which was from her mom's.
I have at times neglected this plant and nearly killed it. It has come back strong every time, and is very healthy now. I will ship three babies to the winner. I'm sure that all will thrive, but even if one doesn't make it, you'll have back up.
