I think he's asking who did the release. Not all Blu-ray releases are created equal. Some are transfered from film prints, some have blu-ray exclusive content and others are just the DVD stretched out and repackaged. In fact, some movies have already been released 3-4 different times ( ex Predator and Terminator 2 ) because some disk producers/ manufacturers just don't get how to make a quality Blu-ray release.
1408 only has 1 Blu-ray Release (in the US) so far and its released by Genius Products.
Video: They go back to the source on the video so it's not just an upped DVD. That said the blacks run soft, middles are too bright, and both the color temp and contrast are running a bit hot. So you get a good resolution image but it may be a bit flatter then the DVD release unless you are fiddling with your TV settings to correct the transfer issues.
Audio: Solid transfer. Clean, crisp, and wraps the speakers It's full bodies, atmospheric and a strong 5.1 with both 5.1 TrueHD and 5.1 Digital as options depending on your speaker layout.
Extras: Mixed bad of DVD extras some in HD some in SD but no Blu-ray Exclusives.
Over all it's not the best release out there... but if you like the movie and are willing to fiddle with your tv contrast settings unflatten it a bit then you definitely won't be disappointed... because the res is true and the audio is solid.
It's $10 from amazon. $7 Lowest New. $6 Lowest Used. It's admittedly a lower ticket blu-ray release... but relatively few used copies listed and most of them listed at or around the new price means it's a probably a keeper.
Hope that helps.
I'll be watching and if I can snag it at the right cred level bidding.
