This auction is for a 1927 error wheat cent.

This is what is known as a lamination error. This occurs when the metal was not properly mixed and after striking bits of the metal peel off because of the metal weakness. In this case, the result of the lamination coming off is that it appears that Lincoln was beheaded. A very interesting coin and error.
