Description
The listing, 1986 Elizabeth II Canada 1 Cent Canadian Coin has ended.
Up for bids is a Circulated 1986 Elizabeth II Canadian 1 Cent. There's also a slice mark on the cent. Material: Copper You are looking at a Canadian Small Cent. These were first minted in 1920 to replace the earlier issued Canadian Large Cent. Until 1996 they were made of 95-98% copper. In 1997 the composition was changed to copper plated zinc. The composition was again changed in 2002 when the mint established a method of copper plating steel. Until 2006 these steel cents have a "P" mark on the front just below the bust of Queen Elizabeth. After 2006 the "P" was replaced with a maple leaf symbol. The steel pennies are also distinguishable by the fact that they are attracted to magnets.
