This Necklace is a gorgeous glittery vintage piece, the clasp is Sterling and marked but I don't believe the necklace itself is Sterling, though it could be vermeil (it has a yellowish cast and where there are some scratches in the back it's silver color coming through.)It's not magnetic with my little magnet, so even the connector rings maybe gold.I have no other way of telling, but each ring is soldered shut , which indicates a higher quality piece of jewelry, it also maybe "paste" I've heard that term used, and I looked in the Encyclopedia Britannica's description of paste that says it's highly refractive, and these are! It's a very glittery necklace!I've had this for years(like maybe 40 to 45) and it was old when I bought it , so it maybe even 100 years old. I think the clasp was added later.
