Questions & Comments
You could do dog, cat or other pet ones ... husband or child ones ... folks might like themes. Even if you have some old charms around from making jewelry in the past you could add a charm to make it a theme ... I dunno. Try it. You might not get a lot of action at first but it might grow.
Watch for other sellers who are selling gift wrap supplies and e-mail the folks who bid on those. That's what I do when I'm selling something new. Make sure people know you've got this great item ... you also could ask Listia to feature a listing for you. Might be good to put several listings in different categories too ... maybe buy a Premium if it's not too expensive (but don't use GIN with a premium, make the listing last 21 days and then list them GIN so people can GIN if they don't want to wait).
Hope that's clear ... LOL. Be sure you have stellar photos ... set up a photo "studio" on your desk and once you get a good setup, take all your photos the same way (that's what I do too).
I like the idea of doggies (kitties too) and you know what Ihave been asking for features like crazy lately with all of the seasonal items especially and no luck yet, even once. Maybe closer to Christmas when I put higher end electronics here Listia may feature a few of them. I purchased special equiptment on Amazon to help me photograph jewelry after my final straw encounter with a nasty Listian on a necklace auction I had because she couldn't clearly see a hallmark on a sterling silver necklace. Fortunately the person that won it trusted me and has received the item and is happy and can see that marks on the chain and bale. I do premiums only when I know I'll make decent credits off of an item. It has hurt me in the past to list a premium auction only to have a final bid that only helped me break even from the cost of a premium listing. If Listia could allow us to buy a perk for a reasonable amount of credits or offer us a VIP membership where perks and "X" number of premium listings are included for a flat fee every month, payable through paypal. I've suggested this to them but...no luck yet!! Thanks for always helping me out!! ♥ ya doll!!!
Can I make a suggestion ... always take your photos against a plain white background. Patterns are too distracting. If the item is white (like this one) try using a small desk lamp to move the light around and cast shadows, and try without a flash. That can really make small items pop!
Also, if you are making jewelry, please be sure to check out my items ... I keep all sorts of "basic" findings listed all the time. And you KNOW I am a reliable seller (and they should get to you quickly even at the edge of the world ...).
One more thing, then I'll quit ... little bows like these could be a GREAT Listia item, particularly for the holidays. Not only for jewelry or hair pretties ... you might also be able to put them on a twist tie and sell them for people to use on gift packages. That might be fun!
I will make some more to list, this was a test pair to see how they'd be received before spending money to make several other pair. Which colors would you like to see?
When I received my last shipment from China, the seller included a package of 50 Mickey Mouse head charms that are the type that slide over a ribbon or on a small dog or cat collar. Took me forever to figure out what they are, but apparently a lot of people use them for pet collars. The slide hole on them would fit any ribbon type craft, about 1/4 inch wide.
I plan to list them in lots of maybe 10 of them at a time, or more if someone wants a bunch, with a relatively cheap GIN. If you think you might like them, let me know and I'll set up a listing for you. I'm so behind in my Listia chores I haven't done that yet! I have photos I can post on the Listia.
