This is a RARE FIND! This is a really, really old picture frame. It was passed on to me through my grandmother. If my mother were alive she would be 109 years old! - - Do the math, this is OLD.

I hesitated to put this up for auction, but a friend reminded me how really rare it is! This frame is all in the glass! It is a frame with convex glass. The glass bows out, like a little bubble. Your photo or picture slides into the frame and is viewed through a bubble type glass!

I have tried to photograph the glass ( 2nd photo ) - I can imagine if anyone likes to restore antiques - this would be a great project!

What this frame really needs is some coats of gold leaf. It also could use some "fill" or putty - - Then it needs pin striping along the edge and around the round glass! It could be restored really nice.

Note that the back side has a place that pulls out that acts as picture back that allows the frame to stand upwards. I can remember years ago we had photos in this frame. It was damaged even then, but we still used it.

Finally this frame was retired to a box and then to storage. Recently I uncovered this treasure! I think someone will love to restore this frame.

The frame measures: 4-1/4" x 5". It is made of a heavier cardboard substance. I really could not find any other object or frame to compare this to anywhere on the internet.

I hope someone can restore this frame and enjoy it for another 100 years!!
