The listing, TRUE VINTAGE, REVERSE CARVED, ORCHID EARRINGS, SCREW BACK STYLE has ended.

This type of earring was very popular in the 1940's & 50's.
They have such a Fabulous 3-D effect. The Orchid flower has been reverse carved (Intaglio) in Lucite, giving them the visual effect of floating in water! Uncanny! They are in wonderful condition for their age & the screw mechanisms work exactly as intended. They measure about 3/4 " square.
They are unbranded as to maker. What a great item from the past! I'm sure they were worn to Church many times!! Ready to wear right out of your package & I'm sure you will get many compliments.

I always loved this kind of earrings and brooches. They are so reminiscent of the 50s. Reminds me of my mother. She used to wear things like this, but she wasn't a saver. When something didn't get used for a while, she threw it out! Maybe that's why I tend to hang on to things well after they have served their purpose. Good Luck!!

My grandfather did this also. He left me most of his work. some beautiful roses in earrings and necklaces . these are very nice!!
