The listing, Vintag Peacock Ring/ Avon Perfume Ring, has ended.
Offering a Vintage Avon Perfume Ring, circa 1950s-60s green faux jade ring. sometimes refered to as a Poison Ring, I could not find much information about this ring, The face has faux jade, carved in the shape of a peacock and flower, the perfume is still intact with the plastic shield covering the perfume, (I am not sure about the perfume, I did give it the whif test, and still smelled nice?) I tried to show in the pictures as much detail as I could get with my camera, The ring has a solid band that might be adjustable, This is a cute whimsical ring, It does appear to have never been warn, but can not say for certain. According to http://feelthebite.com/poisonringhistory.html Most people believe that poison rings were the invention of assassins and jealous spouses, intended only as a rather fashionable means of secreting poison into the drinks of their helpless victims. Nothing could be further from the truth. Poison rings along with lockets and other vessel jewelry originated in India and the Far East. As the art of metalworking advanced such jewelry was a natural replacement for the bags and pouches people had worn in ancient times to secure special and valuable objects.
