The listing, Very Old Puzzle Box from Japan with Hidden Drawer has ended.
I have had this box since the 1950's when I was in Japan with my family. None of my kids want it, so I would like to pass it on to someone else who will treasure it as I did. The first hidden spot opens a keyhole, but I have never had a key. It's possible a locksmith might have a little key to fit it. The second hidden place is a tiny drawer. Follow the directions in the pics to open them. When closed, the box looks like a small bookcase and there is a lovely picture on top. It looks like many different inlaid woods, but I don't feel any 'edge', so I don't know if it is or not. I think the whole box is made with dovetailing and glue. The only nails are the little round topped nail used to slide the panel over and the nails securing the lock. There is some wear of course, the box was not new when I bought it in Japan and I have had it for some 60 years. The hinges and lock are brass. I am asking only actual weight of 14 oz for shipping, so it will have to go parcel post or priority.
