wondering if this will work for my dog in our unfenced front yard - not familiar with horse gear so please bear with me! Does it have a wrist strap or connect to a pole? What is the rubber stop for?

the rubber stop is so if the horse decides to take off and starts pulling the left over line it wont come out of your hand the rubber stops it.If your dog is a chewer it will not work because the line is nylon

not a chewer, just nosy when it comes to the cat across the street. It fits around my wrist like a regular dog leash?
