Up for auction is this lovely 18k gold filled engagement ring size 8. The center stone is a gorgeous, large white topaz flanked by two rectangular topaz. These are real gemstones created in a laboratory.

Gold filled jewelry is gold mixed with with a base metal.
Why are other metals mixed with gold?
Adding other metals to the mix also allows metallurgists to change the color of gold. You'll find examples of pure gold jewelry, but pure gold is soft and isn't practical for daily wear. Other metals are mixed with it to make it more durable.

18K gold filled contains 75% gold.

Most jewelers are hesitant about resizing gold filled rings, so I don't think I would try it. Let me know what size you are looking for and I'll try to list an engagement ring in your size this week. Thanks for looking.
