Questions & Comments
if u are going to make a project like this. can u write down the pattern and put it up for auction. u would get a lot of bids. i would like to do one with a different doll
I guess u could be right about writing the pattern down but, then that's all it'd be, is a piece of paper and it wouldn't be one of a kind then either. Believe me, if I had a pattern for this, I'd just send it to you. I just do these for fun. I don't sell them outright for money,in fact today is only the second time I've even shown anyone other than family what I do :)
If this goes well, I will try to list another. This is the second one I've put up, did u not get to see the first one? If you'd like, and don't mind sharing you personal email address with me, I can send u a couple of pics of this one and the first.I'm still really new to listia, but if there's a way for u to see the first one(if u didn't), go see it:) or I don't mind sending u a couple just to u. Which ever u prefer, just let me know,ok? Happy Thursday! Stacey >¡<
ok ill email to u instead of post it here thanks. u have 12 watchers and about 7 days. this one going to do well. bidding heat up right before it closes
I just saw that a bit ago. Maybe it'll be a good auction after all :) u know how to get in touch w/me out in yahoo land :)? Then I'll be watching for your email. May not get to answer u till later in the morning, but I promise you'll be the first I answer,ok? You know, if u like to crochet, especially Barbie dresses, I have an unbelievable amount of never used patters. I could if u were interested, give u a few-if u wanted:) Let me know, I'll be on here a few more minutes:) Stacey >¡<
Awww...what a cute puppy :) I'm sorry to say no I don't have a pattern for this dress. This and the several others I have are my own designs. I don't follow patterns very often unless it would be to start the bodice or if I wanted it to have tiered train, then I might use an old pattern to start it right. I'm sorry but thank u for asking. Have a good one :)
This is beautiful! My mother crochets dresses for me and creates her own designs as well. We love patterns and dresses and are so appreciative of the work that goes into making dresses. I just made my first dress ever a few weeks ago out using needlepoint. I love homemade dresses
>¡< Thank u so much for your compliment and sharing your story with me. I would love to make more but I have so much trouble following pattern directions, I think it's a subconscious thing about being told what to do, LOL! so I just work on creating my own, which to me, is what takes the longest:) Congrats on your first handmade and with needlepoint! If I give my email address, I'd love to see a photo of it, if you'd like to share(some artists have a thing about sharing, I've noticed) Anyway, I wish you great luck in bidding, I hope you win it!
This takes talent. So beautiful. The color combinations are perfect and the attention to detail, stunning. My mother in law can draw these dolls in the victorian dresses so I hope to get this for her to see and to display it with my collector dolls. Thanks fanned you.
Thank you for such a kind compliment. I wasn't sure about the colors, I'm not color blind or anything, I just happen to be one if those unlucky people that can't match a knife and fork, much less colors,LOL! But thank you for that, it does relieve some up-tightness I develop when I do show someone what I've created :) I wish you all the luck in the auction and getting the top bid! >¡<
Thanks much. About the gift cards, I mostly get the Amazon cards. The winning bids on those are for instance, for a $1 card, at least 1,000 points but usually a bit more. For a $5 card, at least 5,000 points but usually a bit more. Depends on how many people are bidding. That's why I was really reluctant to start the bidding on my dress for less than I did. But I also know that most of the bids on auctions are made close to the ending time, unless you put a GIN and someone likes it well enough to use the GIN. I'll see how it goes. And if this Barbie is any indication, I encourage you to display your work in a blog!
Ok, I understand now about the gift card thing, that makes sense :) and you're right too when u mentioned about the bidding heating up toward as the time winds down. You never know too, there might be more people watching than are admitting, waiting for that first bid to be cast. I'll be watching and having my fingers crossed for you :) good luck >¡<
Hope your auction does well. I put one of my hand-crocheted items on Listia for the first time (a baby dress and jacket) and I started the bid at what a $3 gift card goes for, but so far, no one is bidding. I'm waiting to see how this auction does before I put up more items (especially Barbies, which take so long to make). Do you have a crochet blog or site with pictures of your creations? Mine is teri360.blogspot.com.
Oh it's beautiful! I wish I had the credits to get it now! You should put more of your crocheted baby things out, your work is so pretty! I do want to ask tho,u said u started it out at what a $3 gift card goes for? What kind of gift card cause I'm really confused about the $3 and the 3,700 credits.Im still new here and still asked questions. What kind of gift card are u referring?
About a blog... No,I don't have one. This is only the second time I've ever shown any of my work to anyone other than my immediate family. I'm so shy about the things I make-afghans,baby clothes, layettes, booties, all kinds of shawls and evening wraps, plus the Barbie dresses, but I just make them and store them. Oh once in a blue moon,I might give something as a shower gift or some other special occassion but I always mail it or have someone else give it. Sometimes, that gets me down or I get angry w/myself for being that way but...who knows, maybe Listia will bring me outta my shell, lol!
Thank u for the compliment and the good luck wish. Good luck to u too and I F & W your baby dress,it's just too cute:)
Thank you very much :) LOL, it's funny, you say you can follow patterns ok, but haven't done much w/designing and I'm completely the opposite-patterns and I do not get along with each other. The pattern itself, when I've attempted to make something I really would like to have, usually ends up thrown across the room! I just have great difficulty following directions. My mom always said I was hard headed, lol!
Thank you for the compliment :) That's cool, you crochet Barbie dresses too-there's not a lot of us out there, you know. I am sorry tho, I don't follow patterns very often, except maybe to get the bodice started. This and the several others I have, are my own design. Take care and thanks again!
