Questions & Comments
Is the turquoise real? I would like to give this as a gift to an elderly lady that I caretake but her wrist is 6 1/2 to 7 inches. Would this bracelet fit her? Very pretty bracelet :) Fanned you
Then it's most like;y dyed howlite which looks a lot like turquoise buy has a darker "dyed" look to it. When looking at them both on a table you can easily see which is real turquoise & which is not. I'm Cherokee Native American & have worked with gem stones quiet a bit over the years so I speak from experience. Howlite undyed in it's natural white state is also known as "Buffalo turquoise", no such real gem stone out there. thats just a tourist name put on it to try to make it sound more rarer or as a Indian sacred stone, just to sell it. Hope this helps explain the difference but howlite is still a valuable gemstone in jewelry making & does produce very pretty beads, etc.
Winnetewa -Thank you for that explanation since I really can only go by what it says on the package, I had no idea. I only know that Turquoise is getting rare and expensive . . . bummer!
