Description

The listing, Polished Septarian Nodule- Unique Specimen! has ended.

Great sample of a septarian nodule. I found, cut and polished this unique creation of nature from Utah. It has yellow to opaque white calcite crystals (to 3mm) in veins/cracks, contrasted nicely to the dark gray mudstone matrix. The backside (not pictured) is the smooth, raw texture of the stone. This is a concretion (check wikipedia) formed in the mud of the ancient ocean that covered a great portion of the US about 75 million years ago! Even looks like a Native American lizard petroglyph!

Size: Approx 3x2x1" oval.
Shipping $2, USA only, -Paypal, M/o concealed cash. I will combine!

incredible... I am curious about the design. Is that how it looked when you found it?

Yes! the design is completely natural. Wikipedia does a much better job at trying to explain how it happens. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Concretion . A search for septarian nodule images will show you how varied and beautiful they can be!

I love my crystals!! I even did a healing session with the peridot today! It made me cry, it has such a sweet energy. I also really like the septarian nodule you sent. I found out it is also called dragon stone, which is cool, because I love dragons!! What is it made of the one you sent? Is it calcite too>?

yes, the yellow/white crystals are calcite. The matirx (gray/black) is a silt/mudstone near 180 million years old. Glad you like them!
