The listing, RARE! & UNIQUE! MOHAWKITE Mineral Rock has ended.
If you love minerals, rocks and gems- this is a must have for your collection. From mine to yours!!
This is called Mohawkite. It is ONLY found in one known location! It is named after the mining town it was discovered in- Mohawk, MI! The mine is no longer accessible to the public, so it is becoming even more sought after by collectors.
I was fortunate to find some nice specimens. The photo of the mine piles are from 2008. Again, this is now private property and Mohawkite is becoming even more rare.
Mohawkite is a mixture of copper and copper rich arsenides including- algodonite and domeykite. It is also believed to consist of such minerals as silver, cobalt, nickel, and/ or iron. At times the specimens will look like gold and is typically found with quartz. Mohawkite is not considered a mineral itself, but a compilation of minerals.
Use caution when handling Mohawkite. It does contain small amounts of arsenic material. Use common sense... don't lick it and you will be fine.
I will only ship to verified US addresses. Thanks for looking!
