The listing, Antique Relic Skeleton Key,1800's Collectible Vintage Jewelry With 3 Replica Keys has ended.

The First 2 pictures are the keys you will get, the other pictures are taken from the web for inspiration.
The Middle Key was metel Detected At a Historic ship Harbor in Boston, the dirt was cleaned off and the rust left. I bought this Key 5 years ago when i was collecting them to make steampunk jewelry.The man that dug these up thought they were from a ship.He didnt get them authenticated ,and i didnt authenticate them , but took him at his word ,because he had sold me a few relics that came from the ship harbor in his area.
I have 7 out of 12 more keys from this treasure stash.I Auctioned 5 already. This is an Old 2 1/2" inch Skeleton Key. None of the old keys i own Have the same pattern On the key Bit part that fits into the key hole.They are all distinctly different.and the Key Bits were hand filed and shaped back then, my keys don't have the same Key bit patterns. :)

Hey there camrltt I actually did appreciate it when I was younger and found it. I was a dorky kid who loved books, school, writing, science and history and I spent more time with dinosaur bones, ship wreck treasure, even bats and bugs, in museums than I ever did on playgrounds unless you count the beach as one. LOL. At the time I got rid of the key I had lost sight of who I was. It was a very bad time in my life. But thankfully I found myself again. Love and light always finds it's way through the darkness even if it takes awhile. As far as my ability to bid pretty high on things currently it is because my health isn't so great right now. Had to put off cosmetelogy school and since I am pretty much homebound for now I have a lot of time to invest in listia to build credits. I understand what you mean though. I am often bidding against some of the same listians if not bidding on their own auctions like this one. Going to fan you as well! To Mr.Sanders You're welcome and I figured that is what he meant. Blackbeards treasure may be up the coast a bit from me, the exspensive kind. Well maybe not blackbeard more like Spanish conquers ship wrecked treasure. I plan to visit the "treasure cost" as it is called next summer to see what I can find. Now castle keys that sounds amazing! I had an old skeleton key but it fit the antique door knob and lock I had on my bedroom door as a teenager. I was the only person I knew with a skeketon key hanging next to a plain old modern house key on my ring. I have some old clock keys but they are for my great grandfathers antique clock and since it still works the keys serve their intended purpose. I do like antique keys for jewelry design though. In fact I am watching some on etsy now I think... Besides these on here. Nice to speak again. I have met a lot of really great people on here over the past two years. People like you who have been light through a very difficult past year for my entire family.

This is very small for what I know as a ships key. It must have been for something small on the ship like a steamer trunk or something mechanical on it that didn't have to do with the engine or anything really large like that. Many years ago here at one of the beaches in south FL I grew up on, in the shallow water about knee deep, tangled up in some fishing net, I found a really old skeleton ships key. First antique I think I laid my eyes on actually that wasn't all pristine in a shop window. I had never seen anything like it before. It was solid heavy and it was about a 8-9 inches long probably. Much too big to make into jewelry and it had been submerged underwater for awhile because it was rusted completely through. Years after I found it I dropped it on the stone floor of my old house and one of the key ends broke off it was shaped a bit different than this one and may not have been as old, I don't know. I kind of wish I hadn't gotten rid of it even though it broke, but oh well lesson learned lol. Tried to repair it but there was too much rust to do so. This is still a a really cool auction. No matter what the old key is actually too on the ship it came off of. Love the history of it and at some point I plan to visit some of the historic harbors up that way. Watching per usual lol. Hi Chrissy , I know its to small for a ships key , i think what the man meant was that the keys most likely came off of the ship, weather a steam trunk , or pad lock from the time , or furniture , or even lockers of the time, But your guess is as good as any. I also have a vast collection of keys as well , thats what i collected over the years. I also have Jail keys, and Huge Like castle door keys, and others.
