When advertising cigarettes being cheaper at an Airport was popular, the 50's & 60's, this was used at Indianapolis International Airport to attract buyers! Holds 4 cigarettes and is a heavy satin finish metal measures 3-1/2 inches square.
Pretty cool collectible and very hard to find!

how thin/heavy is this? Like, was it made to sit down into the armrest of an airport chair?

It's a heavy duty metal, maybe tin, maybe tin, aluminum mix, satin finish, does not bend well. I guess it could have sat in a chair if the hole was cut for it. I have no idea on that one. it's not flimsy
