WoW stonefirewon don't know why some people are like that. The brain has to process the word fake and her brain processed to type it. Nice Minolta sorry the shutter release is jammed. I have a AF Minolta Maxxum. But a classic like you have is really nice.
Gotta say Dennis. Your comment sounds a little like a backhanded compliment. If not, great! if it is, continue with that and I will block you. I will not allow such behavior in my auctions. I plan on being very strict and bringing up what you perceive as the negatives in my auction and posing them as a compliment will not fly here.
I am sorry also. I do like Minolta cameras , big fan. My dad had a XG-1. Wish I knew how to work on them. I wanted to put my hand though the screen grab your camera and just hold it. Yea I know sounds weird. But they are great cameras to learn about photargraphy.
Easy man - I think dennis was saying that his camera was newrer, but that yours is a classic and it's an awesome camera; it's definitely worth picking up for a collector's piece, and most camera shops will do a simple clean, lube and adjust to free up the shutter and keep the camera going for a good many years.
Yes He and I resolved that situation. Unfortunately its seems to be a big part of the culture here for people to post negative comments about an auction. I have resolved to have a zero tolerance policy in regards to this. Hence my strong reply to Dennis.
BTW - the shutter may not be jammed - have you tried new batteries in it? I think it takes two 1.5V button-style batteries that you can get for less than 5 bucks at walmart. F&W. http://www.butkus.org/chinon/minolta/minolta_x-700/minolta_x-700.htm
Even so, if the shutter was cocked, and the camera left to sit for awhile and the battery died, the whole thing might appear jammed. It might not be jammed, and a new battery might just release the whole thing.
