Description

The listing, Catalpa Tree (10 Seeds) has ended.

When it comes to shade trees, the Catalpa trees are the best ones to look for. The catalpa trees offer great temperature control to the surroundings. Catalpa is a deciduous tree of the flowering plant family. The heart shaped leaves and the flowers can add beauty to your garden. The North American species are well known for its showy flowers and elegant looks. These Catalpa trees are widely used in landscape gardening. Apart from providing good shades, the Catalpa trees have many other great benefits too.

The tree is the sole source of food for the catalpa sphinx moth (Ceratomia catalpae). Because the caterpillars are an excellent live bait for fishing, some dedicated anglers plant catalpa mini-orchards for their own private source of "catawba-worms".

@sunnyrain59901 - I live in Northern Michigan, zone 5, and they grow awesome here without having any protection.

For most eastern states, yes. They attract a certain caterpillar that does feed on the leaves. But, if you rather not attract them the tree and roots can be sprayed in early spring with a common pesticide.
