I will check when my son comes home with his.. If a dsi XL fits, I would think so but let me make sure. About an hour till he gets home.

I opened one of the boxes and there is a foam protective pad, it pops right out and then the Nintendo 3DS XL fits right into the case... Must be the same thing you have to do for the dsi XL. So to answer the question, yes .. Nintendo 3DS XL fits in this case
