This is a brand new ring, that just came in the shop, & it is very pretty. It is a size 8 & is a sterling silver plated ring. I will ship this to you for free, (USA & Canada) so please bid up. Is this genuine emerald and white topaz? What is the metal that it's silver plated over (if you happen to know)? Thanks :)

I don't know what is under the silver plate. Probably either an alloy metal or copper? It is not a real emerald I don't think, as I think they would only be put in a real gold ring. Actually, they do put some natural emeralds in sterling, but those are ones that are not faceted etc. I would think that this is a man made emerald. The topaz could be real, as that is not an expensive gemstone, but I could not tell you for sure. All I know is that it is classified as a costume ring. Thanks, Zen.
